Sean and Richard have been friends/clients of Greg Sanborn, OGMC Treasurer, for over 15 years. When Greg joined the OGMC Board, he knew that The Port Bar was expanding its outreach to the Oakland LGBTQIA+ community; and, would be a perfect fit as a OGMC concert sponsor.

After years of living, working and living in Oakland, The Port Bar team noticed a common complaint among the diverse, yet ever growing LGBTIA+ community in Oakland. Despite the fact that every day Oakland seemed to get better and safer, there was no gathering place for the LGBTIA+ community in our thriving downtown. Armed with backgrounds in small business entrepreneurship, economic development and community service, Sean and Richard sought to change that. After working and striving for several years, The Port Bar opened its doors in July, 2016 and has only looked forward since then. This GEM of Oakland redefines and supports great customer service with amazing entertainment. Come See For Yourself, right next door from the Paramount Theater in downtown Oakland, California.
