Health & Safety – COVID-19 Policies

Last Updated: April 19, 2023

Oakland Gay Men's Chorus has adopted the following policies to ensure the safety of attendees, singers, staff, and volunteers.

These policies may be updated at any time, as required by federal, state, or local government, and with consideration to COVID-19 levels in our community.

We respectfully ask anyone feeling unwell, exhibiting any COVID-related symptom, or having a positive test result in the previous five days to please stay home. Those recently recovered from COVID with a negative test result after Day 5, must continue to mask through Day 10 from the first onset of symptoms per CDC guidelines.

For Event Attendees, Staff, and Volunteers

  • Mask Policy: Masks are not required, but are strongly recommended while not eating or drinking.
  • Vaccination Policy: Up to date vaccination (including booster shot) is highly recommended for all attendees ages 5 and up. We request attendees who are not vaccinated to please wear a mask in consideration of others.
  • Venue Policies: Performance venues may implement their own health and safety mandates which are in addition to our policies. Venue-specific information is provided below.

For Singers

  • Mask Policy: Masks are currently optional, with a negative COVID-19 rapid-test result the day of the performance, otherwise masks are required.
  • Vaccination Policy: Up to date vaccination is required.
